On October 3rd, 2023, the transnational cooperation NGO Mediterranean Pearls, the Italian partner of Erasmus+ GeoTours Guides, organized an Infoday in Fluminimaggiore, Sardinia, a Mediterranean gem, to present the project to Sardinian stakeholders. The event, under the auspices of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the Sardinian Historical Environmental Geomineral Park, aimed to illustrate the contents of the project, which focuses on training environmental hiking guides in thematic geological tours, as well as improving their promotional capabilities on digital platforms. The training package includes skills related to online branding of tours (digital, marketing, networking), as well as a course dedicated to specific geological itineraries and the relevant theoretical information.

As a premise to this, the partnership, composed of partners from Cyprus, France, Poland, Slovenia, Malta, and Italy, identified the training needs of the target group and proposed geological routes in each partner country to be used as practical exercises during the training course. The training course will be made available as an open educational resource on a specially created online platform.
